Indications for use

loxitane is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes interference or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions). loxitane is in a group of drugs called traditional neuroleptics. It works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain.

Precautions

Before taking loxitane, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to loxitane or any other drugs. Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Don't forget to mention any of the following: antidepressants;; atropine antihistamines; barbiturates such as pentobarbital (Nembutal), and called secobarbital (Seconal);phenobarbital (luminal), epinephrine (EpiPen); ipratropium (Atrovent); ; medications for anxiety, ilorazepam (Ativan)rritability, etc.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include:

  1. drowsiness
  2. loss of consciousness
  3. slowing breathing
  4. slowing of the pulse
  5. unusual, slowed, or uncontrollable movements of any part of the body
  6. cramps
