Cipro is used in the following cases:
Infections caused by sensitive to the drug microorganisms:
infections of the lower respiratory tract, caused by gram-negative bacteria (pneumonia, except for pneumococcal, bronchopulmonary infection in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis);
infection of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses, caused by gram-negative bacteria;
kidney infection and urinary tract;
infections of skin and soft tissue caused by gram-negative bacteria;
infections of bones and joints;
infection of the organs of small pelvis (including adneksit and prostate), gonorrhoea;
infections of the gastrointestinal tract (including diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic strains of Escherichia coli, Campylobacter jejuni);
infection in patients with reduced immunity (neutropenia).
Do not take Cipro in the following cases:
hypersensitivity to Cipro, to other hinolonam or auxiliary substances of this drug;
pregnancy and breast-feeding;
childhood and adolescence till 18 years;
concurrent use with tizanidine.
